WARDOGS Pilot Money: What Flying Actually Pays on Screen
Illustrated WARDOGS guide to pilot income: the on-screen payout feed, logistics pallet and crate rates, attack-helicopter kill money, and what flying costs you back.
FAQ
How do you make money as a pilot in WARDOGS?
How much does a pilot earn per drop in WARDOGS?
Is flying worth it compared to infantry in WARDOGS?
What is the red minus number next to my cash in WARDOGS?
Which logistics supply pays a pilot the most in WARDOGS?
The general money question is already answered elsewhere on this site — our money-making guide ranks the earners for the whole lobby. This page is narrower and more suspicious: it looks only at the pilot’s ledger, and it prints a number as fact only when the number is visible in a frame.
That filter changes the shape of the answer. Half of what the community repeats about pilot income is spoken over gameplay and never shown, and the game itself hides the other half in a HUD feed that scrolls away in two seconds.

YTsmokee — 3 Ways To Make Money as a Pilot in WARDOGS
Step 1: Understand That the Pilot Gets Paid by the Event, Not by the Kill
WARDOGS credits money in named lines on the right of the HUD, and only some of them are combat.
Step 1 (Timestamp: 3:46) — Read the top-right: a red negative counter, a six-figure balance, and under it the event that just paid — TACTICAL DEPLOYMENT +$300.
That red negative column is worth one warning before anything else.
Step 2: Logistics Is the Earn That Scales
The pilot’s real job is freight, and freight is bought in the vehicle’s own vendor screen.
Step 2 (Timestamp: 0:22) — The menu opens on CRATES, and the panel under it spells the business out in eight steps: buy a crate, load stock into it, set a markup, drive to the control zone, deploy, and let your team buy it back out of you. The PALLETS tab beside it is the bulk path.
Step 2 (Timestamp: 0:28) — $400 buys one pallet of 1,800 fuel supplies, with the same fragility clause every delivery item carries. Pallets pay on delivery; they do not carry a markup.
Our source pilot’s claim is that ammo pallets pay best — about $2,500 per delivered ammo pallet (S1-era community talk) — because the FOB spends it on mortars, CRAM and SAM sites, and kills made with that ammo feed back to whoever supplied it. The $2,500 figure and the ammo-first ranking are Community-reported (S1): spoken, not shown. Official (Season 2 patch notes): deploy supply pallet $2,500 → $1,250 cash and 500 → 400 XP in Control Zones (ground vehicle source XP 750 → 500); consecutive pallet streaks add +$250 / +100 XP per pallet, up to 10. The patch tables do not split payout by pallet type — treat type ranking as unverified on Season 2. The assist-money mechanic behind community claims is described in the logistics guide and the money-making guide.

Step 3: Crates Are the Same Freight With a Margin Attached
The other half of the Logistics tab is a shop you run yourself.
Step 3 (Timestamp: 4:42) — Teammates request calibres in chat; you stock the crate to answer them. The FMJ line reads “deals severe damage to all target types”, which is why people ask for it.
Step 3 (Timestamp: 4:48) — Two boxes, two business models: AMMO is what the base needs, LOGISTICS is what you sell to your own team.
Step 3 (Timestamp: 4:52) — On the ground the crate becomes a shop counter that anyone nearby can buy from — that is where the markup actually lands in your account.
The markup and crate-slot mechanics are documented with their own frames in our mechanical parts guide.
Official (Season 2 patch notes): selling from supply crates now scales down per buyer (diminishing returns until break-even — no profit, no XP); sales to enemy players (for example after a team swap) grant no cash or XP; deploy and destroy rewards for crates scale with contents value. Small crate deploy cash $500 → $250, large $1,000 → $500 (Control Zone values). Our S1 footage still shows the old shop flow; re-read your feed after Update 0.2.0.
Step 4: Passengers Pay for the Insertion, Not the Ride
Transport income is triggered by where you put the squad down.
Step 4 (Timestamp: 2:12) — S1 build capture: the delivery line read 500 XP (not cash). Official (Season 2 patch notes): deploy supply pallet XP 500 → 400 (ground source 750 → 500). The cash counter on the same screen still read minus $4,890 while the aircraft was on final approach to the drop.
Our source’s passenger logic, as spoken: land the whole cabin alive, get tipped by impressed riders, collect a survival bonus for the squad, and keep earning when those passengers get kills or destroy vehicles. The survival bonus (~$500) and the passenger-kill cut stay Community-reported — no matching official patch lines. Official (Season 2 patch notes): Player Delivered pay $150 → $100 (XP 50 → 25); ground vehicle delivery $500 → $350; delivery streak adds +$25 / +5 XP per consecutive passenger, up to 25. The only insertion cash line we can read on screen remains TACTICAL DEPLOYMENT in Step 1 (+$300, S1 build — Season 2 patch notes did not list this HUD line; unverified).
The break-even maths our text sources give, and what it is worth
GreenyJr: a light helicopter costs around $6,000, one full cabin of safe drops recovers roughly 70–80% of that, so the second run is profit. Dynamic’s first-game log: $95,000 total profit as a brand-new Pilot level 8, and a $1,800 loss when a passenger bailed out early. Both are spoken figures from single matches with no matching HUD frame — Community-reported, single-sample, S1 build–bound. Official (Season 2 patch notes): listed attack helicopter shop prices rose (for example Havoc $18,000 → $28,000); MH-6 transport purchase price was not listed; pallet deploy cash $2,500 → $1,250 changes logistics break-even on Season 2. Use community maths to decide whether to try the class, not to plan a purchase without reading your post-patch HUD.
Step 5: Presence Income Is the Quiet One
You are paid for being in the circle, and a helicopter covers circles faster than anything else in the game.
Step 5 (Timestamp: 6:48) — HOTZONE PRESENCE +$320, ticking while the aircraft is simply in the area. The cracked left canopy is the honest part of this picture: hovering over the objective is where helicopters get shot up.
Two presence lines appear in our footage — HOTZONE PRESENCE at +$320 and CONTROL ZONE PRESENCE at +$160 — Confirmed on screen (S1 build). Official (Season 2 patch notes): these named presence dollar lines were not listed — treat Season 2 amounts as unverified and read your own HUD. They remain the strongest on-screen argument in our capture for staying over the objective instead of escorting teammates to the far edge of the map. What triggers the higher tier is not labelled anywhere we could read.
Step 6: Attack Helicopters Convert Violence Into the Same Ledger
The minigun and rocket aircraft pay the way infantry kills do, plus a vehicle bonus.
Step 6 (Timestamp: 7:26) — Two lines from one pass, and only one of them is cash: the destroyed vehicle paid 150 XP (S1 build). Official (Season 2 patch notes): vehicle-destroyed rewards are per variant; armed versions earn 1.5× the default variant’s XP — which airframe pays 150 XP in our frame is not verifiable from the patch list alone.
Our source’s target list for the minigun aircraft: cars, quads and SUVs, other helicopters, infantry around a FOB, and weakly armoured spawn vehicles. Rockets are better against Humvees and armour. Attack airframes gate behind Pilot level — our footage shows a DRIVER level 16 lock on a logistics card, and the source commentary separately puts an attack helicopter behind Pilot 35 (Community-reported commentary — does not match the official S2 Pilot track listing). Official (Season 2 patch notes): Little Bird AH-6M [Miniguns] unlock LVL 4 → 8, fee $50k → $125k; Z20 Lakota [Miniguns] unlock fee $75k → $85k; Havoc unlock $500k → $650k. We do not assert which aircraft the “Pilot 35” line referred to. Shop and unlock ladder context: vehicle purchase page.

Step 7: What Flying Costs You Back
Income is half a ledger. The other half is the asset:
| Cost | Status |
|---|---|
| Aircraft purchase price (light heli ≈ $6,000) | Community-reported — MH-6 transport shop price not listed in Season 2 patch notes (unverified on S2) |
| S2 shop moves (attack / listed variants, Official patch) | Little Bird AH-6M [Miniguns] $7,000 → $12,000 · AH-6R [Rockets] $12,500 → $18,800 · Z20 Lakota [Miniguns] $8,000 → $15,000 · Havoc $18,000 → $28,000 |
| Fuel burned per sortie | Confirmed as a mechanic on the vehicle purchase page |
| Crash loss — total, before the tick-20 refund rule | Confirmed mechanic, figures on the vehicles guide |
| Repair after a bad insertion | Runs on mechanical parts — see the repair guide and the mechanical parts guide |
| The red minus column on the HUD | Unconfirmed — we do not know what it counts |
That last row is the honest limit of this page. If you can read that counter’s tooltip in a menu, you have found something none of our four sources showed.

Rules of Thumb
- Read your own feed. Every figure on this page came from a HUD line that scrolls away in seconds — watch it for one flight before you plan around it.
- Ammo first if you haul. Reported, not proven — but it is the claim of the pilot whose run we filmed, and it matches the logistics guide.
- Insert, then stay over the zone. Presence income is the only line that pays you for not shooting.
- Level Pilot and Support together. Deliveries feed Support, and Support gates the RPG that shoots down the helicopters you are competing with — see the XP leveling guide.
- Learn the landing before the ledger. The insertion is where the money is and where the airframe dies; the technique is in the flight walkthrough and the J-hook landing guide, and what to haul in each phase of the match is in the helicopter pilot guide.
- Do not quote a wiki number you have not seen on your own HUD — including ours.
All nine screenshots come from YTsmokee’s nine-minute pilot income run on a Season 1 / pre–Update 0.2.0 build, read at full resolution; the payout lines, aircraft labels, cargo panels and pallet cards were transcribed off that screen. The dollar figures we could not see — pallet delivery rates, survival bonuses, the light helicopter’s price and its break-even, the Pilot 35 attack-helicopter gate and the first-match profit totals — come from the spoken commentary of Dynamic, GreenyJr and Mattzila 999, none of whose footage appears on this page because their videos carry face-cam-era edits, burned-in captions or inserted clips. Official Season 2 changes (logistics pay, crate selling rules, passenger delivery, shop prices on listed attack variants) are summarized from Bulkhead’s Steam Season 2 Patch Notes (2026-10-14, gid 1846651706674560) and cross-linked on Update 0.2.0 patch notes — old → new values only, not WardogTips in-game tests. Re-check your own HUD after every patch.
